  • Russia: Gazprom increases its power in the European gas market once again

    In an official declaration earlier this week Gazprom’s management announced a new phase to the Russian energy giant’s European expansion strategy. Gazprom will create joint-ventures with leading companies in Belgium, Germany, Serbia, Rumania and Hungary to build natural gas deposits. This strategy, if it works, will further strengthen the Russian giant’s position in the European energy market from both a commercial and diplomatic point of view.
