Japan: robots and society
The robotics sector in Japan has been going through a profound transformation over the past few years, leading companies to invest in various areas, not solely limited to industrial applications - currently the principal destination of investments in the sector. Companies are redirecting themselves towards new opportunities linked to social robotics. Robots for personal use are becoming increasingly popular in Japan, as a source of entertainment as well as for household activities, such as assisting the elderly, alongside the introduction of more advanced machinery, ranging from applications in schools to security systems.
