Morocco: the legislative elections in 2007
The legislative elections in Morocco took place on Friday 7th September. The results have partially confirmed and partially deceived the expectations expressed during the electoral campaign. There was massive abstention despite the attempts to involve the population; in any case the results were astonishing because they changed the balances in the outgoing coalition and affirmed a growth which was lower than expected for the Parti de la Justice et du Développement (PJD), a great protagonist in the electoral campaign.
