  • Egypt: the cooperative relationship with China and Japan

    Egypt's relationship with China and Japan continues toward a strengthening in cooperation on various levels. Tokyo is the technological cooperation supplying the necessary know-hows to transform Egypt into a technologically advanced country, while Beijing concentrates primarily on the power division of the oil extraction. While the political relationship with Japan is stable, with China, in order to remain strong, there is evidence of contradictions with regard to Beijing's preferential relationship with Sudan and other countries in the Middle East. Egypt is dependent on its relationships with the United States and Israel.
