  • Italy: Fear of the Paralysed Institution

    The legislative elections on April 13 and 14 will most likely see the victory of the centre-right candidate, Silvio Berlusconi. The danger is that within one of the chambers of Parliament, the Senate, there could be a limited majority or even a minority. An institutional stalemate could occur and most likely, after a reform of the electoral legislation, new elections in a short period of time.
